Urban Threat Close Quarters Combat Course

Urban Threat Close Quarters Combat Course designed to teach principles and fundamentals of Close Quarters Combat to Law Enforcement and Military personnel. Students will develop critical skill sets necessary to efficiently execute Close Quarters Combat/Initiative Based Tactics movement techniques.

Instruction will be a building platform of learning critical principles, fundamentals, and efficiency techniques for both individuals to collective tactical elements and how to effectively their close quarters environments. Elements and individuals will knowledge and capabilities required for mission planning and execution, SOP/TTP development, procedural flows and communications, and mindset that will better prepare the officer when faced with a threat/s while executing or responding to High-Risk Warrant, Crisis, Active Shooter, or Urban Clearing Operations.

This 2-day training program includes:

  • Introduction and definition basic to advanced CQB principles, fundamentals, and efficiency techniques
  • Planning considerations, mission equipment loadout, contingency considerations of equipment
  • OOM movement formations and techniques on exterior building approach, security establishment, verbal/non-verbal communication
  • Various stacking configurations
  • Team designations, task and purpose, duties, and responsibilities: main effort vs supporting effort, isolation, and containment, etc. (hasty vs deliberate)
  • Window clearance procedures and entry methods
  • Free flow/initiative-based tactics techniques
  • Single stack vs split stack vs angle stacking
  • Sector defined and sector control duties and responsibilities: threat, non-threat, path of travel, angles for clear shots
  • Single room/multi-room initiative-based tactics clearance procedures: room domination, dead space clearance, opposing threats and entryways, shot calls, communication, priorities of work
  • Threshold clearance techniques: single man vs cross-coverage, threat reductions during clearance, weapon transition, closed-door vs open door
  • Target discrimination: threat/non-threat
  • 2-man vs multi-man room entry and clearance procedures and efficiency techniques
  • Verbal and non-verbal communication techniques
  • Target discrimination: Shoot/no-shoot targets,
  • Hallway domination, hallway movement and clearance, single stack vs split stack movement
  • stairway clearance procedures: hasty vs deliberate, threat engagement methods, corridor establishment, coordination point establishment
  • Crisis point planning and execution techniques
  • TACSOP / SOP / Tactics, techniques, and procedures development

Required Equipment:

  • Workable Carbine and Pistol (No Suppressors)
  • Simms Conversion kits for both Carbine and Pistol
  • Department Approved Simms Personal Protective Clothing
  • Ear and Amplified Hearing Protection (Must Have Clear Eye Lenses)
  • Full Tactical Kit: Body Armor w/ Magazine Carriers, Helmet, Pistol Holster, and Gloves
  • 5 Carbine and 5 Pistol Magazines
  • Weapons Cleaning Kit and Lubricant
  • Spare Batteries for Weapon Mounted Optics
