Contact if you are interested in taking both Pistol and Carbine Fundamentals and Motor Skills Development Courses back-to-back May 6-7, 2023 at “The Farm”. Your cost will be $600.00 for both programs combined.

This course is designed to develop confident pistol management skills while successfully placing accurate shots on target. Students will go through 10 hours of progressive stages of safe pistol fundamental application and grouping, recoil management drills, speed reloads, and efficient motor skill techniques. This program is to educate by understanding and applying correct pistol fundamentals, accountability of shot placement, and skills to develop a baseline of pistol shooter capabilities. All students will gain high confidence in enhanced skillsets and knowledge of pistol fundamental applications for precision and critical stress shot requirements.

Training Objectives:

  • Expeditionary mindset: everyday readiness, weapon and shooters kit set up, individual readiness status SOP development
  • Safe pistol loading/unloading procedures and control management
  • Pistol fundamental application with efficient methods of sight tracking, grip management for control during an engagement, proper trigger squeeze management, and precision shooting drills requiring accountability of correct shot placement
  • Known distance engagement, sight tracking, and cadence fire with precision shot requirements
  • Target assessment and shot placement under stress at various distances and stages
  • Multi-target engagement at various target formations, depths, and angles
  • Safe efficient holstered pistol draw to presentation and accurate shot placement
  • Direct instructor oversight and positive feedback to improve shot placement and confident pistol management
  • Multi-target engagement, sight tracking, and trigger press manipulation and control drills
  • Multi-target / multi-threat engagement criteria, problem-solving, situational analysis, and execution methods
  • Pistol safe malfunction clearing procedures and target engagement follow-through
  • Speed reloads: motor skill and economy of motion development
  • Moving and shooting/shooting while moving at different angles and depths
  • Tactical shooting drills that advance skills for confined spacing and close-quarters environments
  • Various pistol-firing body positions stress pistol manipulation and shot accuracy
  • Barricade occupation during multi-threat target engagements, clearance procedures, and pistol sight clearance awareness when breaking plains of cover or clearing unknown sectors

Required Equipment:

  • Working semi-automatic pistol (no revolvers. RDS authorized. Must be zeroed prior to arrival)
  • 3 – 5 pistol magazines (recommend bringing more if 10 rounds or less capacity)
  • Functioning holster: OWB, IWB, kydex, tac/gun belt, drop-leg
  • Optional: Gun belt / EDC belt / Tac belt / Chest Rack Carrier / Plate Carrier
  • Minimal two-pistol magazine carrier
  • Ear and eye protection (recommend noise-canceling headsets. Bring clear lenses for cloudy / weather days)
  • Range training clothing. Check the weather and bring proper gear
  • Gloves and Knee Pads (optional)
  • Weapon cleaning kit/lubricant
  • Folding chair (optional)
  • Water, snacks, and/or bag lunch
  • 500 pistol rounds
