Carbine Fundamental and Motor Skill Development Course

This course is designed to develop confident carbine management skillset and proper carbine fundamental application. Students will go through 8-hours of progressive stages of safe carbine fundamental application and grouping, recoil management drills, speed reloads, and efficient motor skill techniques. Students will understand critical reasons for accountability of shot placement during developmental phases and progressive stress drills.

Training Objectives:

  • Safe carbine loading/unloading procedures and control management
  • Carbine fundamental shooting application, proper muscular tension holds during courses of fires, proper support arm control techniques, trigger manipulation, proper sight application, and hold-offs, understanding basic ballistic trajectory and point of aim/point of impact of the bullet
  • Known distance engagement, sight tracking, and cadence fire with precision shot requirements
  • Safe carbine carry configurations and presentation techniques, safety manipulation, and shot placement
  • Direct instructor oversight and positive feedback to improve shot placement and confident pistol management
  • Multi-target engagement, sight tracking, support arm drive and control,  and trigger manipulation drills
  • Carbine safe malfunction clearing procedures
  • Speed reloads motor skill and economy of motion development
  • Moving and shooting (based on class progression)
  • Various body positions and carbine fundamental shot application
  • Barricade occupation, carbine manipulation clearance procedures, and multi-target shot placement

 

Required Equipment:

  • Working semi-automatic carbine 5.56 / .223, .300 BLK, 7.62 with sling
  • Sight system: Iron sights, RDS, Holographic, Reflex, etc.
  • 3 – 5 full-size carbine magazines
  • Minimal two pistol magazine carrier on belt, gun belt, or chest carrier system
  • Ear and eye protection (recommend noise-canceling headsets. Bring clear lenses for cloudy / weather days)
  • Range training clothing. Check the weather and bring proper gear
  • Gloves and knee pads (optional)
  • Weapon cleaning kit/lubricant
  • Folding chair (optional)
  • Water, snacks, and/or bag lunch
  • 400 carbine rounds
